So... I haven't been blogging like I should be. But now with my new super fucking super cool phone I can start doing some more blogging... I hope.
So a bit of an update... I got laid off in April of 2009. I rode the unemployment highway for almost a year before I came back to the land of the gainfully employed. I went back to my roots in animal husbandry, I work at a local animal shelter. It's rewarding to work with the animals but sometimes it's trying.
If we had more funds and more resources we could do more for the animals but it seems like everything is at a premium these days. And who thinks of donating to an animal shelter when there is so much focus on other things?
I can't tell you how many animals we get everyday who have been abandoned in an eviction. Those poor babies are scared and confused. Sometimes I'm the first gentle hand they've met in days, weeks or some extreme cases months.
In these hard times please don't forget about the most innocent victims. The cats and dogs, the birds and snakes, the ferrets and fish who all get left behind without even a second thought.
Opt to adopt! Donate to your local shelter. One bag of food can make the difference between life and a one way trip to the blue sky ranch.
Sent from my super awesome phone!
